Privacy Policy

Sirah Quest ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Sirah Quest mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users — especially children and families. The App is designed to function without requiring any account or personal information.

2.1 Information you provide

Sirah Quest does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying personal information.

The only optional name input is the display name you may set during onboarding (e.g. "Ahmad"). This name is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

2.2 Analytics data (anonymous)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous analytics from the app and website. This helps us understand which features and pages are used, identify errors, and improve the overall experience. The data we collect includes:

• App events (e.g. "chapter_completed", "quiz_started", "onboarding_finished")
• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• Anonymous session identifier (randomly generated, not linked to a person)
• Approximate country (derived from IP address at ingestion; IP is not stored)

We do not collect: your name, email, precise location, device identifiers (IDFA / GAID), or any content you enter in the App. Website and app analytics are configured in a privacy-preserving mode — no personally identifiable information is sent.

2.3 Purchase data (RevenueCat)

If you purchase a Sirah Quest Scholar subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier (generated by the App at first launch) and your subscription receipt data from Apple or Google. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment details — those remain between you and Apple or Google. You can review RevenueCat's privacy practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.

2.4 Data stored on your device

Your learning progress, XP, streaks, completed chapters, quiz results, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data does not leave your device except as part of the anonymous analytics events described above.

We use the information described above to:

• Operate and improve the App
• Diagnose technical errors and crashes
• Understand aggregate feature usage (no individual user profiling)
• Verify and manage your subscription entitlement

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share your data with any third party other than the service providers named in this policy (PostHog, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play) solely for the purposes described.

Sirah Quest is suitable for all ages including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Because no account or personal information is required to use the App, and local data stays on the device, the App is designed to be safe for family use.

If you believe your child has somehow provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@sirahquest.com and we will investigate and delete it promptly.

Anonymous analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to 12 months and then deleted. Subscription records held by RevenueCat are retained for as long as necessary to manage your subscription and comply with tax and legal obligations. Data stored on your device is deleted when you uninstall the App.

Depending on your location you may have rights including: the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; the right to object to processing; and the right to data portability. Because the App collects minimal data and no account exists, most of these rights are satisfied by uninstalling the App. For any request or question, contact us at hello@sirahquest.com.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we process. All data transmitted to PostHog and RevenueCat is sent over HTTPS. Your device data is subject to your device's own security model.

The App integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by applicable law. Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and California have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. For any rights requests or questions, contact us using the details below.
